Total duration of antimicrobial therapy resulting from inpatient hospitalization

On May 28, 2019 a paper that DASON staff, DCASIP faculty, and Duke Health Pharmacy staff have been working on was published in Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology. The purpose of this work was to assess the feasibility of electronic data capture of post discharge durations and evaluate total durations of anyimicrobial exposure related to inpatient hospital stays.

UPDATE: ALL Piedmont Hospitals Now Recognized on the Georgia Honor Roll for Antibiotic Stewardship

As of February 2019, all Piedmont Hospitals have achieved recognition on the Georgia Honor Roll for Antibiotic Stewardship. This recognition is valid for a period of 3 years before renewal.  Each of the hospitals are listed below with their level of recognition.  All of the hospitals on the Honor Roll are listed on the Georgia Department of Public Health website here.  The toolkit and checklists are also available on this website, and each provides an overview of the requirements for each level of recognition.

Seven DASON Hospitals Listed on Georgia Honor Roll for Antibiotic Stewardship

The Georgia Honor Roll for Antibiotic Stewardship was established in 2014 by the Healthcare Associated Infections Advisory Committee, a part of the Georgia Department of Public Health. The original goal of the program was the provide an incentive for acute care facilities and critical access hospitals to engage in antimicrobial stewardship.
